DR. HAFIIZH HASHIM

Hafiizh Hashim holds a PhD in politics from the University of Bristol, UK. He is a Lecturer in the Academy of Brunei Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. His main area of research focuses on ASEAN, specifically on comparative study of Southeast Asia’s security policy, the nexus between security and economic development, and the international political economy. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, researching ASEAN-Korea Relations Amidst the Strategic Uncertainties in Geopolitics. He was also a recipient of the Shangri-La Dialogue Young Leadership Programme, where he joined the representatives from all ASEAN Dialogue Partners. Throughout his tenure in UBD, he has also attended numerous workshops and conferences to discuss Brunei’s position and views on foreign policy, security perceptions, and its roles in ASEAN.
