FAQs:
When and where will The Manila Dialogue on the South China Sea take place?
The Manila Dialogue on the South China Sea will take place as an in-person event from the evening of November 6 to the late afternoon of November 8, 2024, at
the Grand Hyatt Manila (8th Avenue, Corner 35th St, Taguig, 1634 Metro Manila, Philippines).
Can I cover the event? How do I register?
The event is open to pre-approved/pre-registered professional news journalists (print, TV/Cable broadcast and online).
If you want to cover, please apply as soon as possible but no later than October 29, 2024. You will be notified within 24-48 hours if your application is successful. Click HERE to apply.
Please do not contact our team after the deadline, such correspondence will be automatically declined.
Approved journalists will have to claim their official ID badges on site between 16:00 and 18:30 on November 6, 2024. Exact location (inside the Grand Hyatt Manila) and the contact person in charge of badge distribution will be provided later.
During the dialogue, please stay within the designated seats for news journalists inside the ballroom. Journalists are not allowed to participate (no questions will be allowed) during the actual proceedings. Journalists can interview officials and experts in attendance only during breaks and must do so outside of the ballroom.
Can I take photos/videos for my coverage?
Yes. However, please make sure you coordinate with the hotel (on your own) in advance if you are bringing equipment such as big cameras, boom mics, and LED lights, among others. The convenors will not be able to assist in coordinating logistics for media coverage.
I would like to hold an interview with experts from the convening institutions (Pacific Forum, National Security Council, WPS Transparency Office, Asia Maritime Index, KAS Philippines, YCAPS, etc.). Who should I contact?
Please direct all interview and statement requests to shanna@pacforum.org and michal@maritimeindex.org.
Our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
