RADM. ROMMEL SUPANGAN
RADM Rommel Agsaullo Supangan graduated as a member of the PMA Class of 1995 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Naval System Engineering, and a Master of Science in Maritime Affairs, specializing in Marine Environment and Ocean Management as a Sasakawa Fellow of the Nippon Foundation from the World Maritime University in Malmö, Sweden.
Prior to his designation as the Commander, Coast Guard Fleet, he served as the Director, Coast Guard Strategic Studies and International Affairs Center; the Commander, Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command; Commander, Coast Guard District Palawan; Acting Commander, Coast Guard District National Capital Region – Central Luzon; and Deputy Commander, Maritime Safety Services Command.
At the National Headquarters – Philippine Coast Guard, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Maritime Safety (CG-8), Secretary Coast Guard Staff (SCGS), and Coast Guard Adjutant. He also served as the Commander, Port State Control Center Manila, as well as Head of Academic Group of the Coast Guard Education and Training Command (CGETC).
As a Coast Guard Commanding Officer with eight years of shipboard tour of duty, he distinguished himself among the Command at Sea badge holders in the Coast Guard service through his exceptional performance in various Coast Guard operations, as he commanded five (5) Coast Guard commissioned vessels and two (2) BFAR vessels.
In February 2025, RADM Supangan was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus, bestowed with the Philippine Military Academy Cavalier Award for his accomplishments and excellence in the field of Coast Guard Operations.
